Querétaro, will receive a special recognition as the First Unmissable Destination in Mexico, during the eighth edition of the 100 Unmissable National Contest of Mexico, this contest recognizes the best places, restaurants and tourist attractions in the country, mentioned Juan Pablo Saloma, Director of this contest.


At a press conference, Gerardo Vázquez Mellado, director of Tourism Promotion of the state Tourism Secretariat and personal representative of the secretary, Adriana Vega, announced that on January 21, Querétaro will be the venue for the delivery of this wards, the same which has three main main categories: attractions, hotels and gastronomy.

He added that the "Los 100 Unmissibles Awards of México" will be delivered during a gala dinner at the Hotel Misión Juriquilla, and that they serve as recognition to service providers for their effort, work and contribution to tourism of the entity and of many destinations in the country.


“This type of national class distinctives dress the state well, complement and strengthen it, in addition to promoting quality and fair competition among service providers. We from the Ministry of Culture will continue to promote the products, services and destinations of the state, ”he said.

Juan Pablo Saloma, director of the contest, thanked CANIRAC Querétaro and the Secretary of State Tourism, for joining this event and indicated that the winners are entitled to the dissemination of their establishments on the platforms of "100 Unmissables of Mexico", as well as an annual campaign in the main markets in the United States, Europe, Canada, South America and Mexico.

He also pointed out that, historically, Querétaro has been the entity with the most nominations and votes generated during this contest that brings together more than six million voters and 130,000 nominations.

The president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Foods (CANIRAC) Querétaro, Rosalinda Hernández Rosales, announced that the restaurants that won the contest in this edition are Emilia, Hacienda El Salitre, Cocono, Fogón Zapoteco and Hacienda La Laborcilla.


In the category of attractions, Bodegas Vaivén, Cavas Freixenet and the Opal Mines of Hector Montes were recognized, and in the hotels: Doña Urraca, Hotel Misión Juriquilla, El Cantar del Viento and the Hotel Fiesta Americana Galindo.
